from the pictures I see, I'm a bit concerned wether Coppola has chosen the right costume and historical advisors...the images I see reminds me of nothing from Marie Antoinette portraits; the dresses, hair-style and not even the make-up. Everything has the appearence of being modern and artificial...
Well, the movie isn't actually being made to satisfy a historical palette...it's supposed to be entertainment. Kirsten herself said that history buffs aren't going to be that satisfied with the movie, but it's going to be good nevertheless. So hold on to your seats....it's a Sofia Coppola movie...trust me..it'll be good.
Yeah, but remember that they had different hairstyles and fashions that changed through time. But that sounds kinda cool about what Kirsten said, even though i'm a huge history buff, and Marie-Antoinette fan. I hope the movie does'nt disapoint me. :-? ;-)
:-| Joely Richardson was almost frighteningly alike MA in the (not so good) "Affair of the Necklace"...but i think that the costumes here seem amazing actually...and the way Kiki looks when she arrives at Versailles in that blue dress is very alike the portraits of her from the time portrayed...i'm not at all disappointed!
