WHO AM I? My name is Jess. I live in England. I love designing. I'm studying at University to become a Graphic Designer. I'm a complete movie/celeb junkie, I adore fashion, cocktails, rollercoatsers, watersports and croissants. I live for the satisfaction of a finished product.I don't stalk Kirsten, I am just a fan like any of you! It started when I had a lot of free time during the school holidays, now I want a career in web design and kd.org has just stuck by along the way. It's come too far to give up. I love all the wonderful feedback about my work,,it really gives me a buzz. Thank you everyone! WHY KIRSTEN? I first saw Kirsten, like many people, in "Interview with the Vampire." because I was a similar age, 'the little vampire always stood out in my mind'.In 1997, I saw both Jumanji and fifteen and pregnant and I was taken back by kirstens performances. We had recently got a computer at home with the internet and I looked Kirsten up. I found a few small websites and well, I investigated on how to make them and I chose Kirsten as my subject. As my talents grew I was able t use the site for new techniques and graphic ideas, at the same time I was promoting Kirsten who became my favorite actress and idol. Today I receive an average of 2,000 hits everyday and I am at University studying Graphic Design/Web Design.I was lucky enough to go to both the Wimbledon premiere in September 2004 and the Elizabethtown premiere a year later in October 2005. I didn't meet Kirsten at the Wimbledon premiere, however I did at the Elizabethtown prem! It was fantastic, she's so genuine and down-to-earth, she was so sweet and enthusiastic when we 'met'. My full story and photos are here. Yay.We seem a lot alike, and she's an outstanding role model. She's not fake, and she's hardworking and outgoing. She has so much heart and experience. I admire her a lot! SITE HISTORY The site was actually opened back in 1997! When I first got my own computer! I decided I wanted to learn how to build a webpage. Then, when I had to choose a subject, I just knew it had to be Kirsten, well, I was a 14 year old girl, the same age as Kirsten in 'Interview with A Vampire', and well, I wanted to be just like her! In Sept 1999 I bought the domain name 'www.kirsten-dunst.org' hoping to increase the traffic at my site. And well, considering im at an average of 1000 hits per day, I think im doing pretty good!!In 2001 I moved to efanguide.com they have been great. Although they had a massive server crash and I lost all my files, (August 2002) So I thought it was time to find a new host, as the site now hold nearly 5000 photographs I need a lot more MB. In Late 2002, thanks so much to my friend, Jason, at Reliable Hosting he gave us a home for over a year, with no pop-ups banners or any kind of return favor, simply kindness. Unfortunately Jason's hosting company encountered some of their own peoples and we had to leave, but we enjoyed our stay very much and a huge THANK you goes out to Jason for all his help.In October 2003, and Thanks to Tom we were hosted at Affordable Computer Services In return for free web space I placed a weblink from Kirsten Dunst dot Org to ACS , please help support Tom and his business by visiting the site. Thanks ever so much Tom for looking after us for so long! In, October 2004, I decided to pay for my own hosting, I thought if I did it would mean I would have less problems, I don't have the time to correct all the problems and hick-ups a free host can sometime encounter. I thought if I pay at least I know I should be looked after! I paid $25 a month to Oktagone and £60 a year for the domain name. Yes, it was expensive, and yes I was let down, on Feb 20th 2004 the site went down due to Oktagone not paying their bills. I was gutted.. not again I thought* ... I lost out on a months payment and had a few weeks hassle of finding yet another new host. From February 2005, I pay for my own hosting, at hasweb.com it costs $29.99 a month and on top of that the £60 a year for the domain name. So far I have been looked after very well and I haven't has any problems. I rely 50% on your generous donations to keep the site going, so please if you have a spare dollar or pound lying around please contribute to the site! :) HERE. Hasweb have been absolutely superb, I don't know what I would do if the site went down or was lost once again. It takes a lot to re build every time and I'm so pleased that HasWeb have been so reliable. Finally, a special thanks to 'Ryan' from 'The complete Kirsten Dunst Site' who from the very beginning helped me through making images to creating my first HTML code! =) And Thanks to Marc for hosting the forum and the media clips, and John, Phil and Javier for always supporting me financially when I am in need, your all wonderful friends too have.
